The Tiptree tea room offers traditional table service in comfortable surroundings. There’s top quality food with a wide range of ‘Tiptree’ products. Wherever possible, we source our ingredients from local suppliers and we prepare and cook the food on the premises.
During the summer months, you are welcome to eat outside on the terrace. It’s a regular sun trap and is the perfect place from which to watch the comings and goings of the factory and the visitor centre.
Alternatively you can join us in the ‘Tiptree Secret Tea Garden’ – located just behind the tea room, in the grounds of ‘Trewlands’, a former farm house of the Wilkin family, is a beautiful walled garden. With its weeping wisteria and traditional English roses we are sure you will enjoy dining with us in a peaceful and relaxing surroundings.
The tea room serves a range of cooked lunches, sandwiches, hot and cold snacks, and home-baked cakes. Try the special: ‘Tiptree’ Strawberry Conserve with home-made scones and fresh cream, served with the ‘Tiptree’ tea of your choice.
The Tiptree Jam Museum holds the John Wilkin Collection. It is a great place to trace the history of Wilkin & Sons and Tiptree preserves, find out more about village life in Essex, and of course to find out all about jam-making.
The jam shop carries the full range of ‘Tiptree’ products as well as other local foods, souvenir items and other gifts.
Access: we have facilities for wheelchair users including hard-surfaced parking, toilet, ramps and access to all areas of the visitor centre.
Opening times are subject to change. Please visit website for up-to-date opening hours.
All of our tea room endeavour to offer gluten free items, but these are not prepared in gluten free environments. It is best to call the individual tea room before visiting to find out what they have on offer that day.
